If you send or plan to send vibrators through the post don’t forget to remove the batteries! Yes that does sound silly, but it’s no laughing matter to the Russian bomb squad that sealed of a post office in Petrozavodsk in the republic of Karelia, after receiving a report from a postal worker about a package that was ticking. The report from AFP and Yahoo news goes on to say that the area was cordoned off by security forces and the people evacuated, before the bomb squad found the package contained a vibrator that had accidentally been turned on. So who finally delivered the item, the post service or the bomb squad? And how embarrassed would you be if it was your name and address on the parcel?

Fake Products
LeLo have announced an increase in fake products being
offered as LeLo originals, not just online but also in bricks and mortar retail
outlets. This is hardly surprising in today’s financial climate! I know you
probably think that it’s their problem to sort out, and it is. Unless you have
just purchased a fake believing it to be the real thing! And it’s not going to
be just LeLo products that are being copied is it? All popular brands are targets
for the fakers and it’s not the manufacturers that are cheated, the buyer who
purchases a product in good faith, believing it to be the real McCoy is always
the biggest loser. The thing about LeLo’s announcement that concerns me is that
some of these fakes are being sold through some seemingly legitimate outlets.
So it’s not just the end user that should be wary of cheaper than usual
products, so should the retailer!!
LeLo say that the fake products can be identified by the
low quality materials used, misplaced logos, and poor quality packaging that is
different from the authentic packaging used by LeLo.

The Versatility of Glass
No I’m not posting an article on windows or bottles! I’m posting about glass adult toys. I assume you already know that they exist, and you probably know that some vibrate. You did, well have you actually used one? I’m not sure why I asked that because from past experience you wouldn’t admit it if you had!! Would you?
Glass seems an unlikely material for a vibrator, but what makes a good vibrator in the first place? There is no real answer to that one is there. It depends on the user’s preference, but if you like strong vibrations you need a vibrator made using a hard material, but they don’t feel that good to the touch. Soft materials such as silicon absorb vibration, but they feel nice. Manufacturers have compromised by using a hard plastic with a soft coating, and everybody’s satisfied?
Now let’s get back to glass. If you need a material that is hard and smooth with a nice feel. Easy to clean non porous and hygienic, and can be formed into any shape. Then why not use glass. And there’s one more virtue, but I’ll come to that later.
But glass breaks and when it does its sharp so I’m not using that! I can almost hear you scream at your monitor, and you haven’t even read this yet.
No it won’t!! At a recent trade show, I visited the display of a German company selling a range of glass toys. To demonstrate the fact that they were unbreakable, the lady sales rep’ tried to demolish the counter top with one. She failed to break the glass toy and left a nice bruise in the counter. So unless you plan to use a sledge hammer to insert it, you’re safe.
I’ve already listed the virtues of glass but I left this one for later. Glass is of course waterproof, so it can easily be warmed or cooled using water. So you have an added string to your sensual bow. Of course, not everybody likes rigid vibrators but if you do, give a glass vibrator a try. If you like your toys smooth and slippery, I suggest the use of a silicon based lube. I dare you to try one and let us know your thoughts.

EEC BAN ON PVC.
A report in last week’s News of the World claims that the EEC are to ban rampant rabbits. At least that was the headline, but on reading further it appears that it’s nothing to do with rampant rabbits. Apparently, green Euro MPs want to outlaw the use of PVC in electrical goods. The move that is aimed at mobile phones and white goods would also include sex toys. They go on to say that electrical goods end up in landfills in Third World countries, and this is causing a problem. After watching a TV documentary on this subject I can see where they are coming from.
Just sensationalist journalism? Well yes, the sex toy bit is anyway, but the ban on PVC in electrical goods is probably not. However the cost of implementation would be extremely high, and something that won’t actually happen. So rabbit lovers don’t go grabbing you’re placards just yet.
But this article did start me thinking. The electrical goods that end up in the Third World are things we recycle. Most are exported to poor countries mainly in Africa as reusable. The items that end up in land fill are the items that don’t work. These are exported by recycling companies as an easy way to dispose of them. So who recycles their old worn out vibrators? I don’t know what you do with yours but I certainly don’t put mine in the recycling box. Although I’d like to hear the comments from the dustman who sort the contents of the box into the different containers. Especially as my address is clearly written on the side of my box. My disused toys end up in the bottom of a black bag of general household waste. Which I hope stays in this country. So come on spill the beans and tell us all (anonymously of course!) where you put yours. Then maybe if it comes to the crunch, we could tell the EEC where they can put theirs.

Lubricants Sex and Vibrators.
When using a vibrator, or in fact any adult toy it is advisable to use a lubricant, as most toy manufacturers already recommend. If you have never tried a lubricant with your vibrator or adult toy, or even just your fingers you are missing out, sex of any kind is always improved when things are smooth and slippery, which is not always case at the very start of a session. Try putting a little dab of lubricant on your finger before stroking your clitoris, because vaginal lubrication doesn’t often find its way there before direct stimulation, and fingers tend to feel rough no matter how soft your hands are. When you’ve tried that you will start to see what I’m getting at.
There are times when the vagina is not as well lubricated as we would like, for example certain days in the menstrual cycle, tiredness or stress, and some over-the-counter drugs including the pill can contribute to a drier than normal vagina. Sex at these times (without using lubrication) can lead to tiny tears in the vagina which are sore and leave it vulnerable to infection.
There are three main types of lubricant, these are water-based, silicon-based and oil based. I will deal with the last first, oil-based lubricants are formulated mainly for men, but they are great for anal sex (if that’s what you are into), because they are long-lasting and never become sticky. However they are definitely not recommended for vaginal use, and cannot be used with condoms, diaphragms or cervical caps, they also have the disadvantage of leaving stains on fabrics.
Silicon-based lubricants retain the lubricating properties longer than water-based lubricants and are highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way. They are completely waterproof so they are ideal for use in a shower or bath. A good quality silicon lubricant is perfectly safe for internal use as silicon molecules are too big to enter the body through the skin or body linings. The only thing you must not do with silicon lubricant is use it with vibrators or toys manufactured using silicon.
Water-based lubricant are safe, they can be used with the latex so they can be used with condoms and all vibrators and adult toys. If they have a drawback it is that they have a tendency to dry out, but they are easily reactivated with a drop of water or saliva. The other advantage of water-based lubricants is that they are available with additives that enhance the sensations during sex, either with a partner or solo, I have tested some of these and they do seem to work. Another variation on the water-based lubricant is it can be flavoured, which only has an advantage if you enjoy oral sex, and yes I have tried that as well, the taste of the ones I tried are fine (very fruity) but they tend to leave a greasy feeling in and around the mouth.
